Fathers Day

Erik had a great first fathers day weekend, swimming lessons with the man on Saturday, and treated like a king on Sunday. Here are the highlights: belgium waffles with homemade peach preserves (homemade by some nice old lady in Loveland, not by me)...hiking in the foothills...and seared ahi for dinner. I also made this fantastic prosciutto wrapped figs stuffed with bleu cheese, they were so yummy. Simpy cut off the top of the fig, cut an X starting at the top and about halfway to the bottom, stuff with some bleu cheese and wrap the prosciutto around, grill on medium high for 5 a couple minutes each side, just to crisp the proscuitto and soften the cheese...

As the months go by....

So I am finally updating our blog but I have no idea why I keep putting myself under all this pressure to keep this thing up...Does anyone even read this thing? I mean, I talk to most of you all on a weekly or monthly basis anyway and keep a steady string of pics your way so why do I bother? Perhaps it is because I feel cooler having a blog, I mean it is what all the cool kids do right? And despite being 34, a stay at home mom, and slightly plump these days aren't I still cool? Please keep your comments to yourselves and enjoy the pics.....

Hangin Out

Hewitt and I have enjoyed spending time with other new moms and babies in a playgroup we joined. It has been nice to get out of the house and meet new friends. Spending time with other kids Hewitts age has brought out the competitive streak in our little man as he is quickly learning to rollover, sit up by himself and push himself up on his arms.

Happy Spring!

We are enjoying the early signs of Spring here in Denver, Colorado. Since this is our first spring in the new house everyday a new patch of spring bulbs reveals itself. It has been fun to wander around with Hewitt as we watch things grow. We have had some fun visits with family lately, inluding a second plane ride to Spokane to see the gang there, Hewitt did great. Erik braved the wilds of Central Idaho with Flip to fish for steelhead and Hewitt and I hung out with Molly and the girls.

Allright, Allright

Sorry to have been away so long..we hope you are all well. We have had a wonderful holiday season and enjoyed many visits from family and friends. I have taken up yoga practice again and am involving Hewitt. On Tuesdays we have a "Mommie and Me" class and so far it is a hit. I have also joined the local photography club and look forward to learning from some of the old pros in the club.

Hewitt is wonderful and this last week has been full of many firsts..First cereal, first rollover, first "da da"(not the surrealist cultural movement but the word). He also attended his first political event as he and I attended the Caucus last Tuesday, very cool I must say, much more interesting that just casting a vote.

The new house is great and I have been doing my best to repaint a few rooms and redecorate as long as Hewitt allows...fifteen minutes here, a half an hour there, but I am hoping that it will come together soon.
Erik has been busy supporting us all however he manages to ski a couple days a month and is enjoying the season. He has been traveling lately and has been glad to see some family and friends when he can. We are planning a trip to So Cal in March so we hope to catch up with some of you then.

The four legged (and three legged) kids are great, a little jealous of the baby but we do our best to give them love when we can. The boy next door loves the dogs and comes over in the afternoons to walk them when Erik cannot get around to it. Afterwards he plays Guitar Hero III in our basement for an hour or so, a little bribery goes a long way when a Playstation is concerned.
Anyway, we look forward to more visits from friends and family in the coming year and we wish you all the best.

Happy Halloween

Trick or Treat

Let it Snow

In true Denver fashion we had a freak snowstorn in late October. It was nice just hanging out with mom and dad in the house for the day...until mom put me in my snowsuit and made me go outside..Brrr. Here I am tasting my first snow...

Over 12 pounds and growing

Hi Friends and Family

A lot has happened in the eight weeks I have been in this cold bright world. We are all settled into the new house, mom and dad have been very busy decorating and cleaning. Mom is mean and makes me sweep and mop everyday. Well, I supervise from the baby Bjorn anyway. We went up to Breckenridge for an afternoon and checked out the shops and restaurants, I even felt my first snowflake as it began snowing. Mom and dad have had bad experiences driving up in the mountains in the snow (some of you may remember) so we hightailed it out of there. We want to go back again, perhaps when some of you come to visit. I love my animals, here is a picture of Zeus and I hanging out in my room.

But we are all well and home from the hospital. Molly has been here helping since we went in the hospital, it has been wonderful to have her here with us...Thank you!

Here are a few pics from the last few days. We will write more as mor happens..right now we pretty much just eat and sleep.
